Season information

2025-26 Season program

The Souths 2025-26 season program provides an overview of club meets, and Regional and Little Athletics Queensland (LAQ) events Little Athletes can join throughout the season. Some Regional and LAQ competitions are only available to children aged U9-17, and some are open to U7-U17:

Regional and Little Athletics Queenlsand organised events

Throughout the season, children aged U9 to U17 (some allow U7 to U17) will be offered the opportunity to take part in Regional and Little Athletics Queensland (LAQ)-organised carnivals. These are larger-scale competitions (than our usual Saturday club meets) against athletes from different clubs. The emphasis is on athletes of all abilities doing their best and having fun while supporting your fellow Souths team mates. Several of these events are held at facilities with a tartan running track and electronic timing systems.

These events are listed below and highlighted in blue in the season program above, and more information is available here:

  • Coles Spring Carnival - Bundaberg
  • Coles Summer Carnival Series
  • HART Regional Relays
  • McDonald's State Relay Championships
  • HART Regional Championships
  • McDonald's Combined Event Championships
  • McDonald's State Championships.

We will share further information and registration details closer to the dates for each event. All Souths athletes are encouraged to give these carnivals a go when your schedule allows. Each eligible family will receive an email invitation to these carnivals throughout the season. Some will come with an extra fee and competitors must wear Souths uniform with solid black shorts.
