Welcome to Souths Little Athletics!

Souths Little Athletics meets:

  • Saturday mornings from 8:30am (usually finished by about 10:30am)
  • Yeronga State High School oval - entry via gate 8, Oakwood St, Yeronga.

Little Athletics is a uniquely Australian program focused on track and field for children aged 5-17, plus a Tiny Tots program for children aged 3-4 years.

It provides a fun, family-oriented environment where:

  • Kids can develop athletic skills, build fitness, and foster a love for sports.
  • The program emphasises participation, personal improvement, and healthy habits, rather than solely focusing on competition.
  • Events are specially modified to suit the ages and abilities of children.
  • A wide range of running, jumping, throwing and walking events is conducted.

No experience is needed! Children are offered practice, guidance and coaching by parents and volunteers as they have a go at each of the events scheduled on Saturday mornings.

Little Athletics provides a great foundation for all sports and offers young people activities and skills that will stand them in good stead for their sporting future.

Souths runs over the Summer season with our weekly meets held on Saturday mornings from 8:30am and usually finishing by 10:30am.

Little Athletics… for… FAMILY… FUN… and… FITNESS

Its a FAMILY THING

Little Athletics is more than a sport. It is a community-oriented organisation which enables the entire family get outdoors and be active together. Parents are involved in the program as voluntary helpers or officials. They share in many experiences with the children.

FUN

All children like fun…all children need fun. The weekly competition provides fun through participation in an enjoyable sport, with friends in the same age group.

FITNESS

The community has become increasingly aware of the value of physical fitness. A fit body can mean an alert mind and a decrease in the incidence of many physical ailments.
